The Rewrite LLC ("The Rewrite," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at therewrite.io (the "Site"). We offer private coaching (The Rewrite Method), a self-guided digital workbook (The 21-Day Rewrite), a free Root Map activity, and a free introductory conversation.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, so if anything is unclear, email us at fabi@therewrite.io.
What this policy covers. It covers the Site, our email list, bookings, purchases, and digital delivery. If you and The Rewrite sign a separate coaching agreement, that agreement also governs the information covered by it.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Root Map and email list. Your email address and, if you choose to give it, your first name.
- Booking a free conversation. Your name, email address, the time you choose, and your answer to the one question we ask before booking ("What feels wrong right now?").
- Purchases. When you buy The 21-Day Rewrite or pay for coaching, our payment processor collects your payment details. We receive limited information about the transaction, such as your name, email address, billing country or postal code, the amount, and whether the payment succeeded. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Coaching. What you choose to share with Fabienne during sessions, workbook exercises, and messages between sessions.
- Email you send us. Whatever you choose to include.
Please do not send medical records, diagnosis or treatment information, financial account numbers, government identification numbers, or passwords through the Site or by email.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our hosting provider automatically processes standard request information needed to deliver and secure it, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the referring page, and the date and time.
We plan to use analytics tools (described in section 5) to understand how visitors use the Site. Those tools may collect pages viewed, links and buttons selected, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser details, and how you move through a page.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- send you the Root Map and, if you signed up, emails from The Rewrite;
- schedule, confirm, remind you about, and hold your free conversation;
- process payments, deliver The 21-Day Rewrite, and send receipts and download links;
- deliver coaching you have signed up for;
- answer your questions and requests;
- understand how the Site is used so we can improve it;
- operate, protect, and troubleshoot the Site and prevent fraud or misuse;
- keep business, tax, and accounting records; and
- comply with the law and protect legal rights.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use what you share in coaching for marketing.
3. Our email list
When you request the free Root Map, you are adding yourself to The Rewrite email list. The Rewrite email list is separate from Rooted and Restless, our Substack publication, which you subscribe to on Substack under Substack's own terms.
- Consent. We only add you with your consent, given when you submit the signup form.
- What we send. The Root Map, then occasional emails about reflection, change, and our offers.
- Unsubscribe. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email fabi@therewrite.io and we will remove you. Unsubscribing does not stop transactional messages such as receipts, download links, or booking confirmations.
- Delivery provider. We use Resend to send email. Resend processes your email address and message content on our behalf to deliver those emails.
- Email activity. Our emails may record whether a message was opened and which links were clicked, using a small image and links that pass through our email provider. We use this to understand which emails are useful and whether they are being delivered. You can prevent open tracking by turning off automatic image loading in your email app.
4. Service providers
We share information with providers that help us run the business. They process it for us, under their own terms and privacy policies, and only as needed to provide their service:
- Stripe processes card payments and fraud checks. Stripe collects your card details directly; we do not see or store your full card number.
- Resend delivers email, including the Root Map, receipts, and download links.
- Google provides business email and Google Calendar appointment scheduling for the free conversation. Booking details you enter are processed by Google.
- Analytics providers, such as Google Analytics and a product analytics tool like PostHog, once enabled (see section 5).
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that serve and secure the Site.
We may also share information with professional advisers such as accountants or attorneys; where the law requires it or to protect rights and safety; and as part of a merger, sale, or reorganization of the business, subject to applicable law.
5. Analytics and cookies
We plan to use Google Analytics and the Google tag to measure visits and conversions, and a product analytics tool, such as PostHog, that can record how visitors use pages, including session recordings of clicks, scrolling, and navigation. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies to recognize a returning browser.
- We configure these tools to avoid collecting what you type into forms.
- We use analytics to improve the Site, not to sell advertising.
- Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you will be able to change that choice.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.
Some of these tools may not be active yet. We describe them here so you know what to expect, and we will update this section if our practices change. The Site does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
6. Payments and digital delivery
Checkout for The 21-Day Rewrite and for coaching runs through Stripe. After a successful payment, you can download the workbook right away, and we email you a receipt and a backup download link. To send that email and support your download, we keep a record of your purchase and email address.
7. Bookings
Free conversations are booked through Google Calendar appointment scheduling. Google processes the details you enter to create the booking and send confirmations and reminders. Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule; otherwise a fee may apply, as described in our Terms of Use.
8. Coaching confidentiality and boundaries
Coaching is not therapy, counseling, medical treatment, diagnosis, or crisis care. It does not create a therapist-client or doctor-patient relationship and carries no legal privilege.
We treat what you share in coaching as confidential. The limits of that confidentiality, such as disclosure required by law or where there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, are set out in your coaching agreement.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact emergency services right away. In the United States, you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911 in an emergency.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, then delete or de-identify it.
- Contact messages and booking details. Deleted within 60 days after your conversation or our last reply, unless you become a client or we need them longer to resolve a dispute or comply with the law.
- Email list. Kept until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only a record that you unsubscribed, so we do not email you again.
- Purchase records. Kept as long as tax, accounting, and legal obligations require.
- Coaching records. Kept for the length of your engagement and a reasonable period afterward, as described in your coaching agreement.
- Analytics and technical records. Kept according to each provider's retention settings.
10. Your choices and requests
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete information about you, subject to legal and record-keeping requirements; or
- stop sending you marketing email.
To make a request, email fabi@therewrite.io. We handle requests manually, may need to confirm your identity first, and will reply as soon as we reasonably can. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and rely on established providers for payments, email, and hosting. No system is completely secure, so please think carefully about what you send us by email.
12. Adults only
The Site and our services are for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email fabi@therewrite.io and we will delete it.
13. Where we process information
The Rewrite operates in Arizona, United States, and we and our providers process information in the United States. If you visit from another country, privacy laws there may differ from those in the United States.
14. Links to other sites
The Site links to services we do not control, including Substack (Rooted and Restless), LinkedIn, Instagram, and X. Their own terms and privacy policies apply once you follow those links.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site and our practices change. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date and give additional notice where the law requires it.
